This Privacy Policy explains how MotionCab ("MotionCab", "we", "us") handles information when you visit https://motioncab.com or download the MotionCab plugin (together, the "Service"). MotionCab itself is a local plugin that runs inside your game; the only network activity it performs is a single, anonymous version check at startup (see below) — everything else stays local.
1. Information We Collect
- Plugin update check — on startup, the MotionCab plugin sends a single anonymous request to check whether a newer release is available. No personal data, hardware information, or usage telemetry is included in this request; only the standard network metadata any web request carries (e.g. your IP address) is visible to our server, and it isn't logged or stored.
- Website usage data — pages visited and basic, aggregated analytics via Vercel Analytics, which only runs if you opt in to the Analytics category in the cookie preferences below, and does not track individual visitors across sites.
- Download data — when you download MotionCab, our download endpoint increments an anonymous counter to measure total download counts. No timestamp, IP address, location, or version is logged per download, and none of it is linked to any account, since there are no accounts.
- Preference storage — a small amount of data saved in your browser's local storage (not a server-side cookie) to remember your light/dark theme preference and cookie consent choice.
2. How We Use Information
- To keep the website and documentation running
- To understand which docs pages and downloads are actually used
- To detect and mitigate abuse of the download endpoint
- To respond to support requests you send us directly
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell any information. The website is hosted on Vercel, which also stores the anonymous download counter, and, if you opted in, usage data passes through Vercel Analytics — each bound by their own privacy terms. We only disclose information further if required by law.
4. Data Retention
Aggregated analytics are kept only as long as needed to understand usage trends, then discarded or further anonymized. The download counter is a single running total with no per-request records to retain or expire.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you or request it be deleted. Since MotionCab has no accounts, this mostly applies to cookie preferences, which you can reset via your browser at any time. Contact us at support@motioncab.com with any request.
